RBR50-V2.7.6.6 firmware install issues

Please check that firmware number again.  The RBR50 is a "special case" among Orbi routers.  A developer named Voxel created firmware for the 50 product quite some time ago and has been releasing updates (as recently as Sept 2025.  His firmware begins with "9" so Orbi routers will look at any firmware release from Netgear and think, "oh. mine is newer."  Voxel's most recent release was v9.2.5.2.42SF.  https://www.voxel-firmware.com/Downloads/Voxel/html/orbi.html  So, if your satellite has v9.2.7 that would not be from Voxel.

 

Was this satellite purchased separately from the router and other satellite?

 

The Forum has a mantra, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?"  On the other hand, it is a very good idea to have all units of an Orbi system on the same firmware.
