RBR50/RBS50 - bricked?
Hello all,
Just seeing if anyone has any further ideas on how I might progress with my reflash of an RBR50 to an RBS50.
I faithfully followed the instructions here:
Unfortunately, the router after accepting the .img file does not operate as intended - i.e. no web interface and the light on top keeps flashing white. Also an inconsistent ping return.
Resetting back into recovery mode and I can get a good constant ping return from the device, which means that it is definitely still in some good state. The web interface is a no go at this stage though.
I have ftp'd various .img files to it, from the latest to some very old ones, but the result is always the same. Interestingly if I upload an RBR image to it, the red power light flashes after it has accepted the image. So I think this means that the changes I have made to tell it that it is now a RBS and not an RBR have worked.
I can't think of anything else to try to get the router into working state.
Does anyone have any suggestions? 🙂
Try a 30-30-30 reset on the RBR...

Need to press the reset button for 30 seconds then release, then it send to PUT the command and upload the FW.
Make sure you enable tftp: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
Video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done:

Thanks Flurrye38
I had some success with your suggestion to use the reflash utility from github. It wouldn't let me reflash it to a satellite, but at least it let me reflash back to a base/router (i.e. rbr) so I can start again on my journey.
Thanks again!
