RBS40V not powering up - just clicking noise - no lights

Woke up in the morning to find devices connected to RBS40V not working - looked at the RBS40V satellite - i can just hear clicking noise, no led and lights on top rings.  Looks like it is a dead dud.  Anyone encountered this and resolved it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • What clicking? The actual router or the power supply?

Have you checked its power supply? Try different outlets. Or even try one of the power supplies from the satellites.

      Hi,

Thank you for your message.  Tried various outlets.  The noise I get is from the RBS40V satellite unit, not from the power supply- if I turn off the unit using the small black push button on RBS40V, the noise stops even though the power supply is plugged in.

The noise is like tick..tick..tick.. nonstop. Another posting has something similar but no solution- https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/RBS40V-Not-working-after-power-outage/m-p/2055142#M127222

Please do let me if there’s any solution. Thanks.

  • I have exactly the same issue, which just happened out of no where this past week.  Were there any fixes for this, or is it just a dead unit.

No luck, no solution.  I have to take it to electronics recycling center for disposal. Still operating on just the base unit.

Please let me know if you get it resolved.  Thanks
