RBS50 showing as disconnected

A few days ago my 2 yo RBK53 setup (1 RBR50 + 2 RBS50) had a major hiccup! A reboot of the RBR50 and one RBS50 seemed to have restored connectivity. However, on the Orbilogin website's Attached Devices page the rebooted RBS50 is showing as "Disconnected". No IP address is listed next to it. Strangely some devices are showing as connected to this "Disconnected" satellite and working. On the Android App, the Network Map shows all three Orbis working with green dots. However several working IOT devices show up as Offline on the Android app.

Being a total IT noob I am thoroughly confused as to where to start troubleshooting.... Why no IP for one RBS50? Why do the website and the Android app display contradictory info? Should I leave things alone since I have internet connectivity and functioning connected devices? Any and all help would be gratefully accepted!! THANK YOU!

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?

Is Daisy Chain enabled or disabled on the RBR?

Swap arouond RBS with each other to see if problem follows.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

      Thank you FURRY....

A final power ON/OFF sequence on the RBR50 and the modem was successful in bringing back the (near) original configuration. The "Disconnected" RBS50 is now showing online. However, a single camera is still not showing up in the Attached Devices list. I've chosen to live with things as they are.....

All this started after Netgear's boneheaded move to force an updated firmware on my equipment!
