RBS50Y in Extender Mode
I am running into this same issue. The replies seem to stop in this thread, and the "kb" links no longer work. Can someone help or point me to how I can get my RBS50Y into extender mode?

Unfortunately I've seen that and tried the "Set Up Your Satellite in Extender Mode" just like the original post, with no luck. Get to step 6 and the satellite only blinks white, never white & blue. My problem is clearly I can't get it into extender mode, but none of the documentation I have seen online actually works to get it into extender mode.

What is the model number on the product label
- RBS50Y
- RBS50Y2
The product description for the original RBS50Y does not mention extender mode, which is prominently mentioned on the product description for the RBS50Y2.
RBS50Y-100NAS. It was new in a sealed box. Indeed the installation instructions do not mention extender mode. Am I able to update firmware or something to enable it, or is there no extender mode on this model?
I'm not seeing a way to update the firmware until it's connected to the router either, which is obviously a problem since I can't get it into extender mode. Am I wrong or is there a way to manually update firmware without going through a router?
If the RBS50Y is in Orbi mode, and to get into Extender mode, You'll need to get it connected to a Orbi 20, 40 or 50 series RBR router first, long enough for the Y to connect and then you would send over the Extender FW, once sent and updated to that FW, then you could set up the Y unit on a non Orbi router system.
That's not possible. I have an RBR660 and Netgear claims it is compatible in extender mode. If I can't get it into extender mode without additional hardware, it is useless to me.
