RBS50Y Power lead length
Does anyone know the length of the power lead:
(a) Orbi connector to power block
(b) Power block to UK plug
I want to mount this on an outside wall and pass the DC power line through the wall to the unit.

I do not recall ever seeing the specifications for the RBS50Y power connector. Ordinarily, I would recomend that once you have it in hand, you can measure the connector that fits into the Orbi and order an "extention" with matching connectors. 2.1mm x 5.5mm seems to be the most common for 12v. I have done this with security cameras and Infrared lights.
Alas, the Orbi connector is a "right angle" type, which is MUCH less common. The only other solution that comes to mind is to "splice in" a section of wire. Buggers the warranty, but can be as long as you want.
Would be easier to just run a power extension cable out to the power adapter for the RBSY.
I may be incorrect, but my understanding of the electrical code is that 120volt electricity cannot be run through walls, whereas low voltage wires can. Building codes are such a nuisance!
Well for most U.S. buildings v120 is already in walls. :smileytongue:
For an extension to be used, one would need a outdoor power outlet if this is for a RBSY which is out door. Thus a extension could be used. Cable placement and management would be good to include as well. :smileywink:
