RBW30 looses connection to RBS20
Hi,
My Orbi RBS20 is loosing connection to RBW30 router several times a day. Connection is restored after a minute, but the causes my VPN and videocalls to interrupt. Very annoying. The MESH systems is as followes RBR30-->RBS20-->RBW30. Only between RBR30 and RBS20 the connection is unstable although the wifi-analytics shows the wifi is very good at the place of the satellite. Anyone an idea how to get a stable connection?
Also the connection RBR30 --> RBS20 is 2.4Ghz and between RBS20 and RBW30 is 5 Ghz.

I did not know the satellite should be at least 10 meters from the router. This could cause the trouble. The floors are covererd with laminate, buth the walls are from brick/concrete.
that'd be the biggest issue. If the walls are brick concrete, usually the floors are some type of metal/concrete as well.
Concrete and brick are the 2 best blockers of wifi. You might not have a good option for a wireless backhaul because of this. Many resort to a wired backhaul using ethernet, powerline, or moca adapters.
It'd also be why its using the 2.4ghz for backhaul as it penetrates better. Sadly its more sensitive to interference.

how far apart are they?
What is the interior of your home made of? Certain materials block wifi better than others.
The satellite RBW20 is on th e1st floor, it is about 6 meters form the router. The floor is made of wood.
you put you have it going : RBR30-->RBS20-->RBW30.
and then put the rbw20 (which there isn't) is 6 meters from the router.
A couple things.
1. the satellites should be at least 10 meters away from each other and the router. this is needed for roaming.
2. when floors are in the way, things in the floor like hvac/plumbing can block. sometimes a lateral movement can help.
3. you put the floor is made of wood. And the walls? whats the wood covering? cement? joists? that's the key.
4. When a satellites is connected via 2.4ghz it either indicates that something is blocking wifi or the satellites are to far away. if you're only 6 meters, it usually isn't a distance thing which is why I'm more concerned with the materials your home is made of. 5ghz doesn't broadcast as far or through as much materials.
