This does indeed appear to be based on (identical to?) the last private beta V1.12.0.16 and has been released to the public. Hope it helps!

That's what happened to several of us on the 1.12.16 beta... it was fine after loading, but went flaky after a reboot.
That's exactly my experience with the latest. I can erase NVRAM, factory reset, upgrade and it works great until it reboots or drops the internet connection, then it's a mess.

Do i understand it: when you boot the new beta firmware the mess is back? I fear the time is approaching when we have to dump at least for some time or for good the orbis. How much time has everybody wasted for a product they screwed up. Is anybody here where the new firmware works as we all hope.
Netgear sucks ...

I have about 25 devices on my orbi and my s8+ is the only issue. I've rebooted the device as well with no changes. However, I use the Orbi in access point mode, not router mode, so it does not have as much to process.

Netgear sucks ...I don't think anyone has confirmed that, I should be able to later today. If I could have dumped Orbi I would have done so a month ago.

My Orbi has been disconnected for almost 2 months now. I asked for a refund and didn't get a response. I can't sell it on ebay for fear of someone buying it and complaining that it doesn't work because of the firmware issues.

No one has said this about the 2.0.x firmware, but at least two of us had it happen with the 1.12.x branch.

I have rebooted many of times without problems with the Beta firmware and newest V2.0.0.64.. Running flawlessly for past 24 hours with latest Verizon update for my S8 and V2.0.0.64
- Mlny2Aug 30, 2017InitiateWas working from home today and my wifi was dropping every 20 mins or so. I got in touch with tech support and he had me do a hard reset. It seem to help but I doubt it. He did say new firmware will be out next month but didn't say specific day.

next month........

My understanding is it's a couple of weeks away, so sometime in September seems likely, but don't quote me on that.

So ... what model of Orbi system do you have? I have the RBK53 (RBR50 router and two RBS50 satellites), and I so want to try this. Right now, I'm keeping things limping along by just running the router with no satellites - not exactly what I paid for. But I'm reluctant to try the firmware without knowing what Orbi systems it has successfully fixed.
- scornwellAug 31, 2017Apprentice
It's for RBR50 and RBS50.

I also have the RBK53 - make sure you update the satellites first and then the router! There are multiple ways to update but here is the way I did it.
1)Find ip address for each satellite and login - one of mine was 192.168.1.5 and the other was 192.168.1.3 - yours will be different I am sure but those were mine - then I loaded the RBS50 for the satellites then it took about 3 minutes each to finish
2)updated the router via 192.168.1.1 and used the file RBR50
- Mlny2Aug 31, 2017InitiateGot disconnected again so guess what? I'm hooking up Google wifi for now and then try again when net gear gets their act together.
- PhysicalEdAug 31, 2017Star
Maybe they're actually testing it this time?
- rexetAug 31, 2017Guide
Thank you for the link to the v2 beta firmware. I have updated both the router and the satelites this morning. Let's see how they behave now.

Did you get disconnected using the beta firmware?

I have been up and running for almost 48 hours with no problems - My S8 was disconnecting but after the latest Verizon update is running perfect
