I noticed that there was a new firmware version 2.1.2.18 for Orbi RBK50. Has anyone installed this version, and has there been any issues after the installation. Please provide any details that you...

For some reason, the satelite firmware V2.1.2.18 manual upload keeps saying the file is incorrect and will not upload! The Online update shows Update failed. Any suggestions?

I got the same reply, which is: "This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product."
I am not able to update the firmware in neither the online update nor the manual update tab under firmware update. I am very certain I have tried downloading the firmware for my RBS40 sat. The filename used is RBS40-V2.1.2.18.img.
Any suggestions for how to solve this?

Almost the same here :
Firmware check shows :
"Router RBR40 : RBR40 V2.1.2.18 No new firmware version available."
"Satellite RBS40 : Orbi Satellite-1 V2.1.1.16 Service unreachable"and no way to update satellite manually ("This firmware file is incorrect! ...")
???

1. Manually download V2.1.2.18 firmware for the satellite from here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBK40.aspx#download.
2. Navigate to orbilogin.com in a broswer. Log into orbi and find the satellite IP address in GUI. Satellite IP address is shown under attached devices.
3. Navigate to http://Satellite IP/fwUpdate.htm in a broswer. Log into orbi and browse to the location where you downloaded the firmware and install.

Thank you for your reply iJester, but still it returns the same error message in my case:
This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product.
The uploaded file I used was RBS40-V2.1.2.18.img for my RBK40 satellite, which I believe is an RBS40. Perhaps there is something wrong with the file?

After a day of disconnetions and 2 months of hell, I have given up. 2 Satellites going back to Amazon for a full refund. One Router and 1 sat purchased 8 months ago now an £399 expensive paperweight.
Installed Amplifi HD with 2 mesh points and all issues instantly disappeared. As much as I wanted this to work, it's crock of ***** and I will never come near another Netgear product again.
(by the way I have no Google or Android products so its not that!)

I am seriously going to contact a lawywer about this. Netgear is pushing this update, I have had to downgrade this firmware 3 times, it keeps pushing. EVERYTIME it pushes IT BREAKS MY ENTIRE HOUSE... no wired connections work correctly, and I have a switch that controls over 16 wired connections. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Nothing that netgear does for a FIRMWARE update that should break everything behind a netgear switch. This makes no logical sense. This breaks my house every time. I keep downgrading it, then I go in and change my NVRAM so the router is not supposed to update, but somehow it updated. Does the NVRAM reset if the power goes out???!? At least I was able to manage this by keeping the router from breaking itself with its own stupid firmware update, Netgear you need to get your SH$%T together. This is going to get you sued. People cannot work from home.

Updated to 2.1.2.18 yesterday and woke up to no wifi at all this morning. Rebooted router a couple of times and finally had wifi, but no satellite. Have tried everything including factory reset of both the RBR50 and the RBS50. Did initial setup twice and it keeps saying "satellite not found". Moved RBS50 into same room as router, but it still won't sync.
At 76 years old, trying to get our wifi at a reasonable speed is not my idea of how I want to spend my time.
Anything else that I can try? Don't know if using an earlier firmware will solve the problem and don't know how to go back to an earlier version.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I KNOW GOOGLE FIXED THE ISSUE AND PUSHING IT TO DEVICES BUT NETGEAR, I CANNOT CHECK EACH AND EVERY DEVICE FOR THE ISSUE. YOU HAVE TO RELEASE A FIX FROM YOUR END TO MAKE SURE NO-ONE WITH ROGUE DEVICE COULD SHUTDOWN YOUR PRODUCT'S MAIN BUSINESS, NETWORK. IT SEEMS LIKE YOUR ORBI SYSTEM CAN TAKE CARE OF DOS- ATTACK BUT NOT THIS ANDROID OR PACKET BURST ISSUE.
ANY ROGUE DEVICE COULD SEND A BURST OF PACKETS, AND THAT IS WHAT ALL IS NEEDED TO SHUTDOWN THIS PREMIUM PIECE OF SH***T NETWORK GADGET. SOME MEDIOCRE
