Re: Orbi WiFi speeds drop low until I reboot the router
Hi!
I actually have the LBR20 with 2.6.5.32 firmware up and consider myself pretty techie and I ran into the issue above. After 2 days my internet would drop drastically from 180mbps to 2mbps. If you did the internal speed test is would show 225mbps download speeds, but everything connected would be the 2mbps. It all worked fine before the latest firmware patch, so I backed out the 2.6.5.32 and went to a firmware that I new was working. Rebooted. Everything worked fine until 2days later.
Same thing. So after much research, I found an article talking about devices connected that might cause the issue. Sure enough! After a long freaking Troubleshooting session...I determined that it was my new kindle book that is causing the issue. Makes sense bc I got the Kindle recently probably around the time of the new firmware update. But that doesn't make any sense!! Why would my kindle cause issues with my orbi router? After turning off the wifi on my kindle..im back to normal. 180mbps. No reboots required.

It sounds like you might have an IP conflict between the Kindle and another device on your network. When the 2 devices are both active, it inadvertently causes an overall drop in speeds. I'm just guessing, can someone else chime in and are there other cases of unusual speed drops being cause by such a conflict?
