Ring led on RBR50

Hi,

I have a RBR50 and 3 satellites. I have a hardware firewall in front of the RBR50 and the RBR50 in AP modus.

The network cable is not in the routerport, but in one of the switch ports. All is working fine, wired, mesh and wifi, but the ring led is constently solid magenta/red. How can I turn the ring led off?

Thanks!

Connect the RBR to the host router using it's WAN port.

Thanks, but unfortunally the satellites won't connect anymore, even after a reset. I have resetted the satellites as well, this will not bring them back up again.

Put the cable back into the switch and connected the satellites again and that's working fine.

I will get some tape and put it over the ring led 😞

        Hello WS-010,

        Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!

I understand that you have a red light showing on your RBR50. To resolve this issue please connect the ethernet cable from your switch to the WAN port on your RBR50. It is the port in yellow with the text "internet". After you connect your RBR50 to the switch verify that you are able to access the internet from a device connected to your RBR50.  Then from your Orbi app navigate to Menus ( on the top-left) > ADD SATELLITE. Then connect your additional satellites to your RBR50.

        Best,

  • Please connect the switch to Orbi’s WAN port (yellow port)) and the magenta led will disappear.
