Slow satellite speed on RBK40 in AP-mode; how to reproduce and correct
Ok, so - I purchased the Orbi system a couple of weeks ago, and when it works (most of the time) it has given me a 10-12 times speed increase in the internet speed in my home "office" than what I had...
- Oct 29, 2018I expected a Sonos here!
I had too many strange issues when I had my mesh audio system wired to my Orbi Satellite. These devices cause loops in the base stations that affect the system performance and cause many strange issues.
Usually having only one wired mesh device shouldn’t cause such issues though
For testing purpose, please test to disconnect the Sonos Connect from the LAN port and test your issue scenarios again and let us know if you will see any difference.

If you updated to recent FW v.210, try enabling Daisy Chain. Some have mentioned that this seems to be working in reverse order, enabling means disabled actually.

Have you set up IP address reservations for the base and satellite on the host router?

Daisy Chain was initially checked, I now have it unchecked (since it doesn't matter for a setup with only one satellite). Neither setting (on or off) makes a difference for this problem (which granted is not a huge problem, now that I know how to work around it).

Yes, both the router and the satellite have been given a static IP address (based on their MAC addresses) in the ASUS router. Even something as simple as adding a new static IP address to a device (which doesn't force a full reboot of the ASUS router - but "something" changes and makes the internet unavailable for a few seconds) will make the satellite slow.
And just as an additional information, if I didn't make it clear - when the satellite becomes slow then it affects both wired and wireless connections.- FURRYe38Oct 29, 2018Guru - Experienced User
How far away is the base from the satellite? Ft?
Your might do a full re-load of the FW and setup from scratch. Has helped others:
