Slower speed from modem to Orbi

Question

Have gigabit internet through Suddenlink. I use an Arris SB6190 and have had a tech come out and confirm I am pulling 970Mbs to the modem. On Orbi the fastest speed test I have achieved is 768Mbs using Ookla. I tried factory reset and no help. I am using latest firmware 2.5.0.38. Before the factory reset I used the built in speed test for the router and only achieved 700-750Mbs. Can anyone please help me figure out why I’m losing 200Mbs between the modem and router. I’m using a short cat6 cable.

Try ooklas installable speed test app instead of the browser based site.&nbsp;&nbsp;Testing with a wired PC? Try a different wired PC to compare.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Try a different speedtest site. I've had issues with ookla not able to max out my gigabit speeds.

Ok, finally had a moment to test and I tried plugging my cat6 cable to modem. Tested 920Mbs. If I plug cable to ORBI I get only 750Mbs still. Tried several speed test sites and all the same.

I've read on here of some orbi's not able to fully max out gigabit connections. Mine does. Not sure why yours doesn't or if its an issue of the version of firmware you're on. You can try downgrading. I'm not sure at what version it auto updates though. I know that auto update feature has been removed but not sure when.&nbsp;I'd try a downgrade and reset and see if it works.&nbsp;do you fully max out your gigabit connections? the only time I've found that I even come close is for speedtesting. thats it. (not saying its not good to have and the device should support it)
