Tablo not working with Orbi now

Greetings All,

I have an Orbi RBK router with 2 satellites that I have been using for quite a while, and have had no issues using a Tablo Dual unit hard wired from a satellite, which in turn is hard wired from the router.

Last month I replaced the tablo with another dual and it worked fine for a week or so, now it will not scan channels and says the guide is 51 years old.

TAblo support blames the "mesh" router system. If the unit is hard wited with ethernet cable and is not using wifi, what does it matter.

Regardless, how do I fix this issue. I know the antenna is good cause I attached it directly to another tv and it worked fine, which is how it was determed the other tablo had a bad tuner.

Thanks for any insight, been several weeks with no over the air tv.

Your analysis is (obviously) correct, as no WiFi is involved in the connection. I would start with the Tablo User Manual where it describes how to set up the network connection. Then, look at the Orbi Attached Devices display.  Does the Tablo device appear?

Thank you suggesting I look at attached devices. I dont typically even use the app, but when checking devices, I did see what was identified as a google chromecast connected to the satellite, AND the internet access was not turned on. I turned on the access, and the tablo was able to scan channels and download the guide. Not sure how the access was turned off since I never mess with the configuration, but I renamed the device to Tablo and will take a look if this happens again.

My intention was to look at the Orbi web interface, not the Orbi "app".  I have had mysterious things happen when using the "app", especially with regard to that "Pause" slider control.  I do not activate Access Control.  (If someone can figure out my 25 character WiFi password, they deserve free internet.)  Access Control means that I have to be aware constantly when trying out a new gizmo, "Oh, I need to get on the Orbi and change access control."

Anyway, I have found that the "app" slider has activated access control on my Orbi when I did not intend for it to.  I look at the Attached Devices page on the Orbi web interface and it says "Access Control ON."  (swearing) go to Advanced Tab, Security, Access Control, uncheck box, click "Apply" (more swearing).

        Glad you have TV again.
