Turn off firmware check for RBR40?
Hi, Since the RBR40 isn’t going to be receiving any more automatic firmware updates, does anyone know how I can turn this off so that it no longer checks? Thanks! Ryan

My experience is that the user has no control over the router "checking in" with Netgear two times each day. The original Orbi systems did not get the "feature" to disable automatic updates that was added to some of the newer models. (Whether that feature actually works has yet to be determined.) Even though the official position is that Out of Service products are not expected to receive updates, that does not prevent Negear from deciding that there is an urgent reason to release newer firmware.
The daily Netgear checks consume trivial amounts of resources.

Thanks, both, for the replies.
I guess the other reason why I wanted to turn it off is that I felt like, in the past, that when the Orbi checked for new firmware, I felt like it would cause my device WiFi connections to drop (bad connection, video call drops, etc), but that’s pure speculation. So was just hoping to try and turn it off to confirm.
Thanks,
Ryan
