Unable to change password on RBR40

I have had my network using Orbi router and satellites for several years now.

I need to change the Guest Network Password.  I tried several times - it tries and comes back "unable to update"

What's going on?

Thanks!

    Does Password123 work?

    What browser are you using?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

      Thanks for your detailed reply!

I am always up to date on the RBR40 software.  Checked before I sent this message.  I had been doing setup on my iPhone as I have always done.

I have been using a Netgear modem for several years.

Nothing new - I simply wanted to change my Guest Network password as it was recommended by my Bitdefender security.  Also, I noticed some strange devices on my Guest Network.  I shut off the Guest Network and then turned it on again.  Bidefender says I am using the "default password", whatever that is.  But I had been using my own password.

I am hesitant to reset the entire system again as I have some 35 devices on the network and it is a tedious task to go to each one to update the latest password!  For example, I have about 12 Nest Thermostats - each one has to be logged in at the thermostat.

If you factory reset and setup from scratch and use same SSID name and PW for the wifi, your devices will auto reconnect.
