Unable to connect Orbi as Wireless Access Point with CM 1100 Modem

Unable to conenct Orbi RBR20 as Wireless Access point.  I have conenct my Netgear CM 1100 to the itnernet (Comcast).  I had to call Comcast and have them add the MAC for the cable modem.  I'm using an Orbi WiFi router.  Logged in to the orbilogin.com site.  Went to Advanced Settins, hit the AP radio button, selected DCHP.  And..... nothing.  After hours of searchnign the internet (over a wired connection), downloading the Orbi app, downlading the Netgear Nighthawk app, nothing.

The CM1100 doesn't have any router function. So if you connected the orbi to it with the orbi in access point mode, nothing would be acting as dhcp server/router. You'd want the orbi in router mode connected to the cm1100

      Ok?

      1)  I had Orbi originally in Router mode and it still didn't connect, which is why I switched it to AP mode in the first place.

      2) How do I switch it back to router mode, since orbilogin.com is not working now?

Fastest? probably just factory reset it and reinstall it.

one thing to keep in mind with the cm1100. it has 2 ethernet ports but the average user can only use 1 of them. Reason why is their either for port aggregation (rbr20 doesn't have) or for ISP's that allow multiple public ip addresses (most don't).
so during setup, power off both the cm1100 and the orbi, power on the modem first and give it several minutes. Then connect it to the router and power the router on.
