Using Orbi with current WiFi Network
I currently have. Motorola Cable Modem/Router for my Xfinity internet/voice service and I want to use an Orbi router/satellite to extend the range. Can that be done and if so how? Also, are there only certain types of Orbi Satellite I can use for this?
I'm a noob to all this so not technically inclined.
Thanks!!

No. The Orbi is a stand alone wifi system. Works as a router or in Access Point mode,
IF you want something to extend current wifif signals on your current system, Take a look at NGs EX7500/7700/8000 or EAX series of wifi extenders that work with same brand or other brand wifi systems

There are (literally) dozens of WiFi systems on the market. How was Netgear Orbi chosen?

What xfinity box do you have?
You could us the xfinity box as a modem only device and connect the orbi to it. That'd let you use the orbi system.
Or you could even leave the xfinity in router mode and connect the orbi to it in access point mode.
It just depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
