Where to add network switch when using Orbi in AP mode?

This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.

2.  Should I disable the wifi that is broadcast from the U-Verse modem? YES. ALL Radios. 

3.  Where in this configuration should I place the network switch?  I understand that typically it would be modem > wireless router > switch.   There are 4 LAN ports on the back of them modem, so should I connect 1 of them to the orbi and another directly to the switch or should I connect modem > orbi > switch? You can place the switch inbetween the main host modem/router and Orbi or even after the Orbi. 

 

What is the mfr and model# of this switch. Non Managed, non Smart and non Green Ethernet switches are recommended to use with Orbi systems.
