White Ethernet cable provided with the system

I was wondering if I really need to use the white eithernet cable to connect to ISP modem? Can I use my own Cat 6 cable? The reason I am asking this question is that I want to move my Orbi router a little farther away from the modem the the ethernet cable provided is not long enough.
