AC815S unable to tether with MacBook Pro

Question

I have an older Unite Pro that I can tether no problem, the network connection just shows up in my network settings. With the new unite explore, it showed TETHERED on the device, but my mac doesn't recognize or connect to the network unless I use wifi. Please help.

Mac Running 10.11.6.

It is 2013 MacBook Pro with os version 10.11.6. I bought this to replace the 781S which has worked fine tethering.

In the manual it suggests it only has drivers to tether with windows PCs.

Where in the manual does it "suggest" that? Also, the other one I&nbsp;am replacing, the 781S, has no issue.
