AirCard 790S questions

hi, i purchased an AirCard 790S to use as a main internet source (very poor adls in my village).

so my first question is regarding  the fact that my computer detects it as a new network every time i turn it on.

i'm now on network 14 ,is it possible to make the computer remember it?

my second question concerns usb tethering, i use it instead of wifi.

the cable sold with the aircard is micro usb but the slot on the aircard is bigger (like on a usb3 external drive).

so is there a difference in speed if i use a cable that uses the whole slot?( i tried, it works but seems to confuse my computer, and i didn't notice a difference in speed..but i am a noob)
