AirCard 815S (Unite Explore) constantly drops AT&T signal

My brand new Unite Pro loses the cellular signal constantly in a very strong signal area.

I first noticed that when changing URLs, the browser would sometimes report "no site found" and email would fail. If I wait about 30 seconds, and try again it works. This happens at all times of the day.

I can watch the signal go on and off on the display. I have placed a borrowed Unite Pro right next to the Unite Explore and the Pros signal remains steady.

I also have a less than a year old Unite Explore that was doing the same thing, so I ordered a new one thinking the old one had a problem. This new one does the same thing.

The firmware is version NTG9X40C_11.14.08.11 and the update software feature says this is the latest available.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Unite Explore and found a solution?

  • I could not find a way to edit my post, but I see a typo in the first line.  The problem is with the Unite Explore, not the Unite Pro.
