Best Configuration for my home.

Ciao,

I would like to understand what is the best configuration for my home.
My home has 3 floors (about 65 squared meters each) and the modem/router (Tim Hub) is placed in the central floor.
From the place where the modem is placed there are 3 ethernet cables that reach each floor of the home.
I would like to have one unique and stable wifi6 network that covers the whole home exploiting the ethernet cables.

Could you please suggest my the best solution for my home?
Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Samuele

You have posted your message in a section about modems and network devices that use the mobile phone network to connect to the Internet. Is that what you have?

To get their Internet, most people have cable, fibre or DSL over the telephone lines. They then buy a wifi router package that meets their needs.

What sort of Internet service do you plan to use with this hardware?

To get an idea of what you could use, try plugging your needs into the filters on the product pages:

Wireless Routers for Home | NETGEAR

WiFi Range Extenders: Boost Your WiFi Range | NETGEAR

    and

Orbi: Whole Home WiFi System for Better WiFi Everywhere | NETGEAR

Then check back here for reports on the things you are considering, but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments. So look at reviews on Amazon, for example.

If that means that you place is wired for Ethernet, then adding a Mesh wifi system might be the solution.

      dear michaelkenward ,

I have a XDSL connection (over Telephone line).

Thanks for your suggestions but, what I'm not able to understand, is if I can exploit, for example with Orbi, ethernet cables to link the router with the extenders.

      Is it possible?

I think that this type of connection should be better than wireless connection, isn't it?

      Thanks in advance.

      Regards,

      Samuele

        Correct.

If you have Ethernet throughout the place, then you should be able to connect a router to the network and then attach wifi "repeaters" around the place.

This is known as "wired backhaul". The Orbi technology can certainly handle this.

That would actually be faster and more reliable then having wifi links between the router and the satellites.
