Firmware upgrade on M1 Nighthawk (MR1100-1TLAUS)

Hello, I have this M1 Nighthawk mobile router (more specifically, MR1100-1TLAUS). Would appreciate if someone can enlighten me on the procedure to upgrade the firmware. I did happen to come across this procedure mentioned in one of the comments: ********************* Option 2: Manually update firmware via Telstra WebUI (http://m.home): Download firmware file MR1100-1TLAUS_23113199_NTG9x50C_10.25.01.01_00_TELSTRA_03.22.secc.spk from the following link: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/firmware/MR1100/MR1100-1TLAUS_23113199_NTG9x50C_10.25.01.01_00_TELSTRA_03.22.secc.spk Open the WebUI and log in as (default username: admin default password: admin) Click on Settings on the main dashboard Click and expand Administration Click on Firmware Update Click on Choose File Browse to the folder where you have downloaded firmware file MR1100-1TLAUS_23113199_NTG9x50C_10.25.01.01_00_TELSTRA_03.22.secc.spk downloaded in step 1 and select it. Click on Upload The device will power OFF and boot into software upgrade mode. Do not remove the battery or power the device OFF when LCD is showing Updating Device. You will see an Alert on the WebUI dashboard after the upgrade when the device boots up to indicate the upgrade was successful. ********************* Unfortunately, I DO NOT SEE any option to choose the file that I want to use for updating the firmware on the device, manually. It's just got a button stating 'Check for Updates' . But honestly, I very much doubt if the lookup to the server is enabled from all countries. Any assistance towards the method employed for firmware update would be appreciated. Also, is there any way I can figure out the current firmware on the device? Thanks in advance. -FoxtrotAlpha

  • Hi,

Yes, early firmwares didn't have the option for manul update.

The update server is very irresponsive, but if you persist it will eventually work. It works even if you're not on Telstra's network.
