Hook up MR1100 to Wifi Router
I had an old Unite Pro that had to be hooked up through USB to a Cradlepoint which was then connected to my main rifi router. This new router has a lan port. When I plug it straight into my wifi ro...

Hi fire703
Have you tried a different cable,
is the cable you are using a straight through or a cross over,
do you get a termination light when it is plugged in,
have you tried plugging the other end of the M1 cable into a different device,
have you tried plugging a differnt device into the device port the M1 is currently using,
also inspect the ethernet port and make sure there isn't anything in there,
or any of the pins bent out of place.

Yes I did try a different cord. I did plug it into another unit and the light does still not blink like it is sending info. I did look for any bent pins and I did not see any. It was woring ok and then it quit. I did change it from 1500 mtu to 1480 mtu but that should have not affected right? I was told to do this my Netgear rep to try get a detector to stream off e-dipatch. Could it be in the set up of the router?
- MicWApr 06, 2019LuminaryFair point , there is a setting in the M1 to put the ethernet to sleep. Have you checked if it is set to disable or sleep after 2 minutes? Set to "disable" if you want the ethernet port to remain active all the time. Settings > setup> Mobile router Setup > Ethernet standby. I also remember an early firmware would sleep the ethernet port immediately after start up I'm using NTG9X50C_10.25.01.01. There may be newer available . I haven't checked for a while as I haven't had any issues.
- MicWApr 06, 2019LuminaryAlso try pinging the ethernet IP of the M1 to confirm if it is responding. If all else fails then try resetting the MTU back to default. If the MTU is incorrect for your ISP then you would have issues using the net.

Yes I have that disabled
Thanks

How do you ping the ethernet ip.
- MicWApr 07, 2019Luminary
First you need the private ip address of the M1, most likely it will be 192.168.1.1, you can confirm that if you have a windows pc by opening a command window and typing ipconfig and reading the gateway address.Another place you can find that address is under settings>mobile router setup>gateway ip adress in the M1 settings itself. Once you have the address type ping 192.168.1.1 (or what ever your address is that you found earlier) if you get a reply then the ethernet port is awake and working.

Make sure to do the ping from a device connected to your network via ethernet, not via wifi

Thanks I will try that and see

Hi MicW
I am happy with my Double NAT to Dovado router MR100 on 192.168.1.1 and Dovado on 10.0.4.1. DNS set to Cloudlare 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. Sometimes add bridged Airport extreme to Apple TV when my offnet ADSL drops out during a soccer match :smileyhappy:
Here is a link to the latest firmware NTGX50C_12.0.6.02.00.Firmware Version 12.06.02.00
Agree that NTG9X50C_10.25.01.01 was the breakthrough version for ethernet out.
This latest is very stable.
Cheers

Hi fire703
How is your required setup doing?
Sadly I think the link I provided may only apply to the Australian version. What firmware is your Nighthhawk showing? From looking at the support and manuals for ATT versus Telstra there are differences. eg bandwidths supported. I could find no link to firmware for the ATT devices.

I used the below instructions to hookup my MR1100 to a ASUS router via the LAN cable. Super easy and works great.
