how do I connect my mr1100 to spectrum cable modem

  • Why would you do this?

The MR1100 is a cellular hotspot.

Spectrum is a cable internet provider

Maybe some more details on what you're actually attempting and why might help.

I use at&t and get throttled due to 'bandwidth' use over 22GB.  I subscribed to Spectrum cable and want to offload to the cable internet to save my 'bandwidth' for my mobile devices like phones, tablets, laptops while travelling or away from my home location.  So, I plugged a ethernet jumper into the MR1100 and into the Spectrum Modem, and still don't seem to have everything working correctly.  Should I add a switch in between the two (modem and router)?  Any suggestions?

You can't just connect the hotspot to a modem and extect it to act as a router. Its not a dual wan device or even a simple router. Its a cellular hotspot.

When you're home you need to go

        spectrum modem---- standard router

shut off the hotspot while home.
