Http access via MR6450

We are based in France where there is no wired internet to the house. We are using a Nighthawk MR6450 to connet to the mobile cell tower (ISP: Free.fr). The MR6450 is plugged using original plugs. The MR6450 is set up to access both 4G and 5G. Access in the house is via Wifi and Ethernet. We use Devolo Magic boxes in a Mesh net around the house and wifi to connect to these. We have approx. 20 devices via Devolo. Some of these are fixed (chromecasts, alexas etc) and some are moved around (portable PC's and mobile phones). Several times daily we experience problems using web browsers (cannot find DNS address). When this happens I do the following:

1. Check to see if there is a connection to the internet. There is, and I can ping and do a tracert to an exterior site.

2. I have tried doing "everything" with my PC - restarting, checking several browsers, flushing dns, remove temporary files, checking network drivers, reinstalling network etc - but that never works. At this point I try connecting both via cable (put in to the devolo box) and wifi (set to dual band). If I set up my mobile phone as a wifi-hotspot, I have no problem accessing the internet on my PC. My PC is a regular updated Lenovo Thinkpad with windows 11.

3. We have now set a manual DNS on the MR6450 - set to google and my VPN provider (I am not running VPN when I do these tests)

4. The last time this happened, I was connected by wifi on 2.4 GHz directly to the MR6450. I have a copy of the model.json which I will send to @jopeng

I have tried to see if there are events that trigger http falling out. Sometimes it can me be moving to a different location so I swap from being connected via the MR6450 to the devolo mesh net. This morning I discovered the Alexa did not have contact with the net so I ran setup on it. I was working on the PC minutes before - but after alexa went online, I lost http contact.

When troubleshooting there are some things that puzzle me. (I am not a networking specialist). The tracert shows that the traffic goes directly from the gateway 192.168.8.1 and then via 2 other IP addresses in the 192.168 series. These 2 addresses vary (eg 192.168.12.30 and 192.168.255.5)

Thanks for any help in clarification and suggestions.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Sorry for putting in the wrong section - and thanks  michaelkenward for asking for it to be moved.

I have read the manuals - I have also configured other mobile hotspots before - but this one I can't find any solution to.
