LB1120 on TMobile LTE being throttled?

I have an LB1120 with a TMobile SIM card that I have on an unlimited international data/hotspot plan.  Recently I noticed that my speeds had decreaed to around 6Mbps from the typical 20-30Mbps.  I logged into my LB1120 and verified my APN settings were correct, which they are,,, hear are some of my settings in Status:

4G Details

Status Connected

PS service type LTE

Network T-Mobile

Roaming Off

Current radio band LTE B12

Quality 53

Reject Code-1

My question is if Im being throttled down because Im using a Netgear modem.  When I use the same sim in a phone I get my typical 20-30Mbps speeds on LTE.  If throttling is the case, is there any way I can fix this?  Thank you

  • One other item to note.  I believe this is happened in the past.  When I am connected this tower, which gives me a nearly full bar signal, my speeds are slow.  When the modem is connected to a different tower, which has only 2 bars of reception, I get the higher speeds.  Is there any ways to switch towers?  Thank you

Sounds like that specific tower is heavily loaded or is having a back haul issue.  Or you've been deprioritized

        OK, possible breakthrough...

It seems that my Netgear is connected to a tower that is serving Band 12 LTE (not LTE+) (cell ID xxxx8534), while my phone is connecting to a different tower that is serving Band 4 LTE+ (cell ID xxxx8531).

I believe the differences in speed are due to the tower that I am connected to with the Netgear.  Is there anyway to specify that I connect to the faster, band 4 tower?
