M7 PRO - MR7450 Remote Access

Hello there,

It would be very usefull if devs could implement a new feature in the next update for this mobile router : to get a Remote Access.

To be able to connect on the web interface remotely through the public IP from cellular provider or even better through a dynDNS embedded.

Regards,

It would be a nice idea though however, you can't do that with a FW update alone. It would also require special Qualcomm Snapdragon modem chips and chipset. And a backend host server with security to handle all remote connections. All that will come down to cost too.

  • This high spec premium router device is unique in that it has the ability to operate in Tri-band mode! :D

This won't happen - for many reasons. Key reason is that Netgear has removed any kind of Web or similar access even on consumer routers - years ago - beacuse abusing this feature was to easy, the risks are not mitigateable. ->

[KB65071] Why is the Remote Management feature being removed from NETGEAR routers?

    Not at all.

This exists already: Most newer NTGR Mobile Routers are already supporting -> Netgear Insight Pro.

Thanks for the clarification and explanation above. I am aware of the Netgear "Insight Pro" App which was updated I think to "Insight Pro v10.0" Enterprise. I know there is a trial version available that will give access to a secure cloud based connectivity. With a option further to continue using it after the trial period has done finish, you my want to continue using it afterwards with a subscription.

Insight Pro is not a specific App, its a specific license, originally designed for resellers and service businesses - thus, it has some higher organisational and administraive requirements than a single user consumer Insight Premium, for example Insight Premium and Insight pro can't share the same Netgear account, Insight Pro requires at least to accounts, ... . Both can be operated through the Netgear Insight App as well as through the Netgear Insight Web portal.

Admit, I have no personal experience beyond of operating various Insight Premium sites, and Insight Pro (multiple locations, many switchs, and many more APs, ...) in operating NETGEAR Nighthawk Mobile Hotspots with ongoing remote access, monitoring and management via NETGEAR Insight Pro.
