44 TopicsFailed eSIM Installation on NETGEAR MH7150 May Break WiFi Functionality
I tried installing a third-party eSIM (free mobile esim) that requires verification code . However, I quickly realized: The device has no interface to input verification codes There’s no way to complete the activation flow The installation process gets stuck halfway At first, I assumed it was just a compatibility issue — but it turned out to be much worse. Key Issue: Incomplete eSIM May Remain in the System If the installation process is interrupted or cannot be completed: The device may retain a partial / corrupted eSIM profile This creates a strange state where: The eSIM appears to exist But it is unusable And sometimes cannot be removed properly. After this failed installation, I experienced: WiFi signal completely disappeared (SSID not visible)eSIM Data Plan Lost After Device Reset (NETGEAR MH7150)
Dear NETGEAR Support Team, I am writing to request assistance regarding an issue with my recently purchased eSIM data plan. I purchased the following plan: Plan: 10GB Asia & Oceania Subscription ID: sub_0VGUc2HI2i0X3r0diK2lZasizVR7 Purchase Date: Saturday, Apr 11, 2026, 3:28 AM However, I encountered a device issue with my NETGEAR MH7150. The device was unable to detect or broadcast any WiFi signal, which made it unusable. As a result, I had no choice but to perform a factory reset. After the reset, the eSIM profile appears to have been completely removed from the device, and I am no longer able to access or use the purchased data plan. I would greatly appreciate your help with one of the following: Restoring the eSIM profile to my device, or Reissuing the eSIM / data plan so I can use the remaining data.M6 and IP-passthrough with routable static IP
I have an M6 Pro (MR6550) and a T-Mobile business internet account, and I'm unable to use the M6 in passthrough mode. The M6 (the hotspot) does some pretty inexplicable things. Like ARP my firewall from 192.168.3.1. As I said, my firewall has a public routable (non RFC-1918) address, so 192.168.3.1 is not going to be adjacent on the subnet, and therefore my firewall will drop the ARP request at a minimum, and potentially trigger the IDS as there being misconfiguration of a peer on the network or even someone doing malicious probes. It also sends SSDP packets to my network segment as multicasts. Why? Only hackers use SSDP on a WAN interface: to figure out (1) if you're misconfigured and (2) to know what sort of machines are on your network so they can tailor attacks after fingerprinting the hosts and looking up their attack surfaces and vulnerabilities. But more to the point, it's a modem/bridge. It should be operating at layer 2 on the Ethernet side, and layer 3 on the 4G/5G side. The correct behavior is trivial: (1) When the APN provisioning is received from the 5G carrier, PROXY ARP the default gateway's IP address with your own (M6's) MAC address (or GARP it, that works too if the firewall has been sysctl'd to accept GARP's on a public interface... which is sometimes used for man-in-the-middle attacks on public networks). (2) Then ARP REQUEST the firewall's IP address so you know where to forward the packets. That 2nd step is likely unnecessary, since most IP neighbor implementations cache the address of an ARP requestor in anticipation of their being return traffic (i.e. some sort of answer). You don't need SSDP. Or mDNS. Or to be trying to figure out anything about what's attached to the firewall. That's just suspicious behavior. Also, don't IPv6 SSDP me if I'm not provisioned for IPv6! That just fills my logs with noise. If I do a ping -c 1000 8.8.8.8 then I see spans of 8 or 9 packets being passed, then 20 or so dropped, then 8 or 9 passed, then 20 or so dropped... until the test completes. How did this not turn up during homologation testing? I'm getting 62-70% packet loss!!!MR7500 (M7 Ultra Telstra) not connecting to 5G on Optus – Solution / Fix
Hello everyone, I wanted to share a full update on this issue in case it helps others, as I was facing the exact same problem. Device: Netgear Nighthawk M7 Ultra (MR7500 – Telstra firmware) Firmware: NTGX75_10.04.09.00 GUI: M7_Telstra_v07.01.47.00 Issue: The device was only connecting to 4G / 4G+ on Optus, even though: The SIM works on 5G instantly in a mobile phone I was in a full Optus 5G coverage area Network mode was set to Auto (LTE + 5G NSA) What I tested Sent the device to Telstra under warranty They confirmed: Device is NOT network locked No firmware restriction on 5G Hardware is working correctly Contacted Netgear They confirmed: No global/unbranded firmware available No firmware-based 5G restriction Advised to contact the carrier Actual Root Cause The issue was NOT firmware or hardware. It turned out to be a carrier-side provisioning issue (Optus backend). What fixed it After contacting Optus support: Basic troubleshooting (APN, reboot, network reset) did NOT fix it The issue was escalated to technical support They performed a backend reprovisioning / profile refresh, which likely included: Reapplying 5G entitlement to the SIM Refreshing subscriber profile in HLR/HSS Re-registering the device on the network Immediately after that: ✔ Device connected to 5G (NSA / sub-6) ✔ 5G signal appeared instantly Important Finding After performing a factory reset on the modem, the issue came back again (stuck on 4G). This suggests: ➡ On fresh network attach, the carrier does NOT always correctly provision 5G for this device ➡ A manual backend refresh is required again Final Solution If you are facing this issue: 👉 Contact your carrier (Optus / others) and ask for: “5G reprovisioning / backend refresh on my service or SIM” Final Conclusion ❌ NOT a firmware lock issue ❌ NOT a hardware issue ❌ NOT an APN issue ✔ It is a network provisioning issue on the carrier side Since the fix, the device has been working perfectly on Optus 5G with stable performance. Hope this helps others facing the same problem. Thanks.MR7500 (M7 Ultra Telstra) not connecting to 5G on Optus – firmware restriction?
Hello everyone, I have a Netgear Nighthawk M7 Ultra (MR7500) originally branded with Telstra firmware. Current firmware details: Firmware Version: NTGX75_10.04.09.00 GUI Version: M7_Telstra_v07.01.47.00 The device is unlocked and paid outright. I am using an Optus 5G SIM in a full Optus 5G coverage area. The same SIM connects to 5G immediately when inserted into a 5G mobile phone. However, in the M7 Ultra it only connects to 4G / 4G+ (never shows 5G or 5G NSA). Network settings: Band Region: LTE + 5G NSA Network Mode: Auto I would like to know: Does Telstra firmware restrict 5G connectivity on other carriers such as Optus? Is there an official global/unbranded firmware available for MR7500? Has anyone successfully converted a Telstra MR7500 to global firmware? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.Official Firmware Update Bricked M6 Pro - Stuck on Logo
My Nighthawk M6 Pro was working perfectly until it downloaded an official Netgear firmware update yesterday. The update failed and bricked the device. It is now permanently stuck in a boot loop on the Netgear logo. Hard resets do not work. I bought this directly from Netgear UK in March 2023. Since an official update destroyed the hardware, I need a moderator to escalate this for an RMA under the UK Consumer Rights Act, as the standard support portal is trying to charge me for a manufacturer-induced fault.I’ve recently started having this problem for my MR6550 while using a Verizon SIM card
Hello, I’ve recently started having this problem for my MR6550 while using a Verizon SIM card. I can access the web page but if I try to use my app on my iPhone 16 Plus with iOS 23.3.1 it says that the router is not supported. I’ve already updated the firm wear on the device, and I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the mobile app. If anyone else has this issue and have resolved it please let me know. It’s not a priority thing since it truly doesn’t interfere with my use, but sometimes it’s easier to use the app to give access to others since the screen on the device has always had touch issues. Thank you for your help.Nighthawk/AT&T/Disconnecting #MR7400
I have an MR7400 mobile router. I have 2 laptops and one smart phone connected to it. Service by AT&T, unlimited data (or so they say). While using the hotspot (from multiple locations) i get a "no internet" pop up/message on my laptop. Phone data quits working until I turn off wifi. The router shows it is connected to 4 bars of 4G or better. AT&T has replaced the router once already and now settled on "just deal with it" . Any thoughts?no software update available
I received a message from Netgear that I should update my MR6450 - Nighthawk M6 Pro mobile router as soon as possible. However, there is no software update available when I request an update through the device's menu. The current software version in my M6Pro is: NTGX65_12.01.54.00 and is from 12 April 2024.Solved
