MEP Unlock

I am looking for help for unlocking my hotspot, and would like to do so before committing to another carrier. I have the MEP unlock code from AT&T, the AT&T SIM is still in the hotspot, and I am following the instructions (page 36) in the user manual, but am not being prompted for the MEP code.

       2. Launch a web browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the network.
       3. Enter http://attwifimanager or http://192.168.1.1.
           A login screen displays.
       4. Enter the password in the Sign In field.
           The default password is attadmin. The password is case-sensitive.
       5. Enter the MEP code when prompted.
           The SIM is unlocked.

 

Does anyone have experience unlocking the 779S? Are the instructions correct? Is the AT&T SIM the issue? Am I supposed to a non-AT&T SIM in the hotspot to initiate the unlock?

    Hi AJ-H,

     

    Yes, you need to insert the new SIM card and follow again the steps. Make sure you have the APN settings of your new network.
