MR1100 – Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router - could it replaced a home router ?
Hi, I was wondering if I could replace my old router by M1 mobile router? Does it have range enough to be used at all rooms inside a medium house? Or it's range is limited and I should buy a home router? Your output is welcome Regards Rui

The device's wifi signal does not work reliably in a medium to larger home.

Judging from all the postings here in this forum, a lot of people are using their M1 stationary. You'd have to remove the battery and power the M1 with a QuickCharge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible USB charger rated at 18 Watts or more.
With its small form factor and being optimized for mobility, the WiFi range is less than what dedicated home routers are expected to reach, but you could switch off the M1 builtin WiFi and connect a mesh system, e.g. the Netgear Orbi, to its Ethernet port. This is surely more expensive, but should allow for the best possible performance and coverage.
