MR1100 – Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router Battery Drain
Hi: I have a Nighthawk MR1100 and I want to know what happens when it battery drain complete. I also have a ZTE mobile modem and when the battery drains, I have to press the power button to turn on it again. I want to knwo if this MR1100 has the same behavior because I thinking to put it on my house roof due to it reception and if it shutdown due power and needs to press the power button, you can see the image... Thanks for your time.

If you are going to put the M1 in a location that's difficult to access, it's probably best to take the battery out and run it using just the mains charger. However, the charger that was supplied with my M1 was only 2A (I'm in the UK), and when I tried to run without the battery, the M1 kept rebooting. I therefore purchased a good-quality charger with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, which is backwards compatible with the M1's Quick Charge 2.0 technology. This charger provides 2.4A on Quick Charge 2.0. The M1 now runs without rebooting. The extra amperage increased the M1's temperature range to 36degC-41degC, so I have taken the battery cover off and have raised the M1 a few centimeters off the surface to allow air flow around the battery compartment. I also placed an old CPU heatsink on the top of the M1 with some plastic film (cling film) between to avoid damage to the LCD screen. This heatsink probably isn't necessary but I've dropped the temperature by about 5degC, so the range is now 31degC-36degC, which I guess is acceptable.
