MR1100 cannot update firmware

Hi. 

I cannot update the firmware on my MR1100 router. 

It has NTG9X50C_10.12.02.01 firmware now and on the app when I check for updates it comes up with a message saying update error and to try (I have hundreds of times). I found new firmware and downloaded it and tried to do it via a browser but there is no upload button. I'm having a few issues with the router and just wanted to start with updating the firmware.

    Is it an unlocked ATT variant? If so without an ATT sim card you will not get updates

      It's locked to Telstra (Australia) and the sim is Telstra. 

       

      Other info I researched says to just keep trying and it will work but I have been doing that for a week now with no luck. And now the unit is shutting down.
