MR5100 Upload Firmware from PC?
It looks Netgear support does not offer downloading Firmware file to PC. This creates problem for Nigthawk owners who experienced boot cycle with their devices due to fail firmware updates failure. Currently you can do it using application from mobile phone but since device cannot be found on wireless network this option is useless. MR5100 has LAN Port that could be used to upload firware file but Netgear support is silent about this opton. Any solution?

Two random thoughts:
The M5100 Download page does not show any firmware available to download:
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/mr5100.aspx#download
I notice that the carrier name appears to be displayed prominently on the screens. There is a chance that this device is considered to be similar to a cable modem, where the ISP determines when firmware is to be updated (or not).
The product does have a web interface (see page 15)

Have you clicked through every menu looking for a manual firmware update option?
(although where the firmware would found remains a problem)
My guess is that you have had this M5100 for longer than 90 days, and thus cannot ask Netgear support.
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Mobile Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Mobile (L and M series) routers. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
