There's a chance your device is overheating badly from prolonged use. The NETGEAR Mobile Router series' heatsinks have NOT been able to keep up with the heat emission/dissipation rates of the Snapdragon Chipset when your network is on a full load.
The device shuts off automatically once the device temp reaches 80 degrees celsius, iirc.
The only way to mitigate this is to install small passive heatsinks in the battery bay. If you got an older PC heatsink lying around with a fan set, do use it as it cools the device much faster. In my case, I have a MR6550, and I use the Cooler Master Hyper 212 with 2 fans running. The temps I used to see without an external heatsink were 78, 79 degrees and would shutdown frequently too. The device now runs at just 48 degrees now. A 30 degree difference!
