Need help setting up 6100D with public IP address

I'm trying to setup a 6100D on the Sprint network with a static public IP address.  I am getting my gateway IP address rejected and I don't know what to enter into the setup field.

I've changed the following settings with success (I think).

1.  In router settings/basic I changed the LAN IP address to 192.168.1.1 from 0.1 because my application happens to use the 1.1 addresses.

2.  Set port forwarding for 3 application ports

3.  In network/ethernet I set Google DNS addresses since it looks like the static IP address forces user defined DNS addresses.  Not sure what else to do.

In network/ethernet internet IP I can insert my IP address, and mask  OK, but the Gateway IP address is rejected as invalid.  What should go here?  I've tried combinations of 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.1.0, but all have been rejected.   What should go here?

Thanks.

  • When Sprint gave you the static, public IP address, they should have also given you a gateway IP address.  This is the IP address that your router will use to send traffic to the Internet.  Call them up and ask them for it.
