Nighthawk AC 1900 and 4G Modem LB2120
I just bought a 4G Modem LB2120 to supplement a failing ADSL service. The Modem works brilliantly on it's own however I would like to feed it into my Nighthawk AC1900 D7000. Everything I have read sa...

Hi gyorsto,
May I know what is the firmware version of the LB2120?

Hi JamesGL,
The firmware of the LB1210 is up to date - I have performed the search for new software a few times now.
Firmware is M18QW_v07.05170721. The device is the Ausralian version if that matters.
My Nighthawk D7000 is on firmware V1.0.1.50_1.0.1

Hi JamesGL,
Just wondering if I can expect a response or should I just go to customer support?

Hi gyorsto,
If your PC is getting an IP address from the LB2120 and you can access the internet then the issue sounds like it is on the D7000 side. There are a few things you can try.
1. Disable bridge mode on LB2120 and enable access point mode on D7000. DHCP will be from LB2120 in this mode.
2. Disable bridge mode on LB2120, set a specific IP address as DMZ on LB2120 (i.e 192.168.5.90) and then set this IP as a static IP in the D7000 internet setup page.
The above is assuming you do not want to use ADSL and will use LTE as your dedicated connection. If you are wanting to use the failover mode and have ADSL as your primary and then failover to LTE then you need to configure the failover settings on the LB2120 and plug ethernet cable from D7000 lan to LB2120 WAN port.
Kind Regards,

Hi ArodID,
Thanks for the response and ideas.
I would prefer to use ADSL with LTE as failover and the documentation tells me I should be able to do this inside the D7000. I prefer to use the D7000 to DHCP and use it's superior routing capability so ideally I would plug the LAN from LB2120 to WAN on D7000 and the D7000 would see the WAN connection and all would be good when the ADSL fails. I have tried forcing failover however the D7000 doesn't detect the WAN. I set up a netwrok for my neighbours using the LB2120 and Netgear Wireless Router (no ADSL) with no problem at all - it autodetedted and worked straight out of the box.
I will try your suggestions 1 nd 2 and see if I have any luck that way.
I will let you know - thanks again
