nighthawk m1 double nat on my xbox one
I have a problem when using my nighthawk m1 for online gaming. Everytime i connect even after port forwarding and static ip address to give open NAT i still get moderate NAT and a double NAT warning. all the solutions i have come across for this say that my xbox is connected to more than one router/modem. what i would like to know is how is this possible when i am using only one device my m1 isnt connected to anything but my xbox and my 4g network. anyone else having this problem or know of any solutions? thanks in advance

- It's very common for 4g ISPs to use NAT. Combine that with the NAT in your router and you have double NAT. Either switch to a traditional wired ISP (i.e. DSL, coax or fiber) or use a VPN.
- craigh2288AspirantOk thanks normal isp is a no go for me as the speeds are terrible where I live, cost of living in a rural area I guess I can get almost triple dl speed via 4g than I can with normal isp. I even connected up an Ethernet cable to my Xbox still says double and moderate even with Xbox ip st to dmz and all the correct ports open I still get moderate. I never had double NAT with old 4g device either :s guess il just have to wait for the update that allows bridging on my m1. Thanks
- DullbirdAspirantHi did you resolve this
I took out a 2 year contract with telstra with this nighthawk M1 for exactly the same use with the xbox one.
I too have the moderate Nat and doible Nat warning.
I have been using my telstra mobile as a mobile hotspot for the xbox with little to no issue, i got this hotspot so i could connect via the ethernet connection and now Im faced with this issue.
