Do you have a switch hooked up to the M1? if so it will not show these connections in the attached device.

Why would that be the case? Quoting from elsewhere on the net, "Switches don't get involved in layer-3 (e.g. IP). A switch is a transparent layer-2 device, so hosts connected to a switch will have no problem getting to a DHCP server on the same LAN." Interestingly, it has now occasionally shown a single device under the LAN window - but never all four or five that I have on the switch connected to the network, getting their IP addresses from the M1's DHCP. It's inconsistent - right now, for example, it's back to showing an asterix " * ".
The Nighthawk M1 router is using its DHCP to assign the IP addresses of the devices connected to the switch. Is this just an interface design choice of it's not connected directly, so it's choosing to not list what's connected to it via the switch? If so, then it's a design mistake in my opinion, and my question simply changes to "where can I find the IP addresses assigned by the DHCP server wihtin the M1"?
