Nighthawk M1 with Arlo Base Station
I recently recieved this hotspot router from AT&T. When they sold it to me they sent me a data sheet which said that it could be used as my Arlo base station. I have tried everything to figure out ho...

Hi kdebauch,
I see that your M1 device is working properly because you have other wireless devices connected to it. I am going to move your post to the Arlo location of this community so you can have better assistance on your Arlo devices.

It's my understanding that the US version of the M1 is not currently capable of being used as a base station for Arlo wireless cameras. The Australian version does support htis. Dunno if/when the firmware will be updated for support.
Right now you need to plug a base into the Ethernet port, if the M1 has one. Otherwise, use a WiFi extender that's connected to your WiFi so the base can connect via the extender's Ethernet port.

Jason, your response is false and completely opposite to the actual truth. My Arlo system works fine. The M1 is not allowing me to connect the Arlo to it. The ethernet port on the M1 does not recognize anything when connected. I have tried connecting it directly to my laptop, a 5 port unmanaged switch, as well as a router. None of these devices receieved any activity from the ethernet port on the M1.

Not sure Jason is going to see this. Since the Ethernet port seems to be dead, I would either swap it at an ATT store or contact Netgear support and open a case for replacement.

Do you think it is faulty? I wondered if that were the case, but AT&T told me that was normal for the port to not recognize any connections on the M1. I have never owned one before, so I have no way to confirm or deny this. Sucks that this got moved to the wrong section of the forum!
