I have a new M2 and this is often displayed in all the advertisements showing the data used and the amount left on your account. This is a great feature but will not work on my new m2. Is there a s...

Is there a setting on the M2 , that I need to change to display the data usage, or is this purely a function of my service provider?
Did you try this?

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
Check the section View Your Data Usage.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Hi davidgriffo,
May we please know the device SKU (e.g. MR2100-1TLAUS)? This can be checked on the box of the product or on the barcode label
What is the Firmware version?
Who is your Internet Service Provider?
Regards,
Blanca

Hi David,
I have the same problem with my MK2 Nighthawk as well. Long story short is earlier this year Telstra did a system update and since then no Netgear products will talk to the Telstra system with regards data usage. I was at a Telstra shop recently and put my SIM into a brand new MK2 Modem no data usage on it's screen. Put my SIM into a brand new MK6 (a new model that I wasn't aware existed) Modem and again no data usage. Put the SIM into a cheap as Telstra dongle and usage came up as soon as it fired up.
As far as I'm aware Telstra is aware of this issue and are choosing to do nothing about it.Cheers.

Hi David and all,
Cuearse , confirming your thoughts on this issue. Please see thread at:
Looks like no light at the end of the tunnel.
I was momentarily hopeful to see the new Inseego modem on Telstra's website until I noticed it had no external antenna ports, which pretty much sums up Telstra's attitude to the 2% of us who have no choice of provider. There is no way of telling whether it will actually display usage info, despite the features description.
