Nighthawk M2 (MR2100) constant reboot
Hi All, I just bought the nighthawk m2 and I am finding it really unstable. I am getting constant reboots when using the wifi function. The only way I have made it stable is by turning off wifi and...

May 22, 2019Really disappointed in this device and the service by Netgear. I've experienced random restarts. I sent it off the the authorised service centre here in Australia. I get it back with a report of "No Fault Found" - they hardly had it long enough to do a proper check. One thing for sure is that it came back with a scratch on the screen that wasn't there when I sent it to them. The only other option is to return it to the Telstra Shop in which I purchased it. Can anyone guess what they might say when they see a scratch on the screen?

I must count myself lucky to have obtained a faultless replace unit. So far so god.
My first was running 7 days 24/7 before I found it to be frozen. It then also made few restarts now and then. I have now shifted to run on battery only, also 24/7. You guys will hear from me if it gives me any problem. My bet is a hardware problem. My 2 Mr1 is on 24/7 and I purchased them when they were first released. Original firmware did also created restarts now and then, but it has been 100% since then. Will follow your progress.
I also, noticed the M1 battery is not working with M2. It gave my onfo on the screen that wrong battery was installed. In case someone intend to by an extra battery. Slightly different voltage. Not expected.

Bianca!
Would you like me to upload the videos (2) on this site or send it to your tech guys?
I have one short video with battery and another plugged in. Both showing freezing and solid blue light.

Hi im having the same issue, with the Mr2100.
Blue light stays on and i have to reboot. I have tried with battery out and power direct. I have tried usb to computer. i have tried battery only. all with the same result. I have spent hours on the phone to netgear support trying to get this sorted. I have replaced the hardware 3 times with telstra all with the same variying result, I have never had more than 48hours use without having to reboot.
I am at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Blanca,
Any further updates to this problem resolution? Do we just keep returning hardware to Telstra and swapping out till on the off chance we get a device that actually works?
Are there engineering notes in the development repository detailing issues to be addressed in hardware revision #02?

My M2 has now started to freeze and restart after 5 weeks solid performance. This behaviour is from plugged in to power adapter with or without battery installed. It was running for 5 weeks without any problems from day one. I will leave it on a shelf and wait for firmware update. I have 2 M1 and another hotspot I can use. They have been running for 18 months 24/7 without problems (after the first firmware update).

Update on my initial unit, I had it replaced by Netgear after ringing their service center. I have left the wifi off so cant say if the Wifi issue has been fixed but with Wifi off it has been stable for the last week. Over the weekend I will play with the wifi to see if that is still an issue. I am hoping the Netgear rep comes back with an update. Not great support to date on this issue.

Hi Blanca,
Any update of this issue? The Netgear engineers have had Sven's videos for a while now and we are hearing zero from Netgear. In my experience, silence is admittance. What are Netgear going to do about this problem?
Cheers,

I have also seen this issue last week, it occured when I both used ethernet and Wifi.
I had 2 devices connected, one via ethernet and another over 5g.
It was doing lots of udp packets between the 2, (between a laptop on 5g and a X-Air audio mixer, connected to ethernet)
Every few min it just rebooted
