Nighthawk M6 Pro Ethernet port

In tests done September 6, reported above, efforts to keep the hardwired Ethernet up longer than 3 minutes apparently did include trying both with and without battery. Locally, lead-time to replace the unobtanium M6 battery was estimated to be over 6 weeks with a waiting list. An announcement has now appeared in this forum that a fix is available via AT&T cellular to download, and yes it does the trick, brings it all back, but that announcement does not mention the battery will immediately make a big difference doing this enormous, multi-rebooting at times dark, without any display firmware update. The update goes on and on, rather like a huge laptop update. That announcement does not mention what the final firmware version number displayed should be, when checking under the update tab, but here it did not appear different than it did back on September 6. But it is different, for example now the M6 can directly connect to grandma's picture frame because the list of available Wi-Fi encryption security types supported is apparently longer. Grandma is happy now, thankfully!
