Nighthawk MR1100 does not revert IP Passthrough on factory-defaults reset

On the latest firmware with IP Passthrough enabled.  Had an issue that required resetting to factory defaults, and couldn't connect to it.  Used the physical reset button but that was complicated when it didn't provide the ad hoc network.  IOW, resetting to factory defaults didn't revert the passthrough mode, so there was no wifi network to connect to to manage it.

  • have you pressed the RESET button longer? Everything, including password/WiFi, will be restored to factory default if that was done completely.

    Hi Overtime,

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Who is your ISP? What is the firmware version?
Was it working prior the update?
Will it work if MR1100 is set to router mode?

        Thanks!  Here's an update:

        * I must've not actually factory reset it.  At the time the screen and LED were blank and I couldn't get it to turn on.  I held the reset in for a very long time both with and without the battery in and nothing happened.  Eventually what I thought was the reset must've just been the thing finally turning on.  Another time, I successfully factory reset it and it _did_ revert the IP passthrough setting.

        * I still have issues with the nighthawk, but these are addressed by power cycling it once per day.  The issue is:

** In IP passthrough mode, ethernet cable direct to an xbox one S, usually when using it for the first time that day, will have no connectivity and IP settings will show a 169 address or similar instead of a 10.x address.  Solution is to turn the nighthawk off and on again, at which point it works.  (It may also be required that I set the xbox wired port to use the same MAC address as the nighthawk itself, I think before I did that it still wouldn't successfully DHCP renew and didn't get an address?  Not 100% sure on that.)

Separate issue that I am still experiencing and related to the initial ticket, is that sometimes the nighthawk will appear bricked - no screen, no LED, and short-pressing the button does nothing.  It is often plugged in at full charge when this happens.  Solution is to long-press to turn it off and on again.

Hope this helps - would be nice to not have to cycle the nighthawk daily but it's working now.  Thanks,
