Nighthawk MR1100 Sim Card Connector Replacement

Hi

Unfortnately after trying to force a sim card into the connector of MR1100, one of the pins was broken and now the device is not able to identify any sim. I do not believe there is a way to fix it other than to order a replacement part for the connector and solder it in the place of the old one, and fortunately I know how to handle PCB soldering.

Where can I order the sim card connector used in MR1100? Does it a use a standard connector that can be found on, say, Digikey? For reference, please see the broken pin in the attached image.

Regards,

Jabalous

  • Well, I admire your enthusiam.  But in this day and age most electronics are treated as disposibles.  Occassionally, if you can find the part, you might get lucky.  But in many cases these devices aren't designed for serviceability.  You might find a junk one on ebay for $50 and then canibalize the parts out of that.  Or buy a whole used/refurb one for $50-100 (not a Nighthawk though).
