Nighthawk MR5100 router connectivity issue.

I just replaced my old HFC connection with a 5g one. And have got The Nighthawk MR1500. I am trying to replace my old modem with it, But no mater what i do i cannot get it to work or even get detected by the router. I have connected the nighthawk to my routers (asus ac-3200) WAN port via ethernet. I have tried puting it in ip passthrough and tried giving the ethernet mac address a static ip but nothing i do seems to make a difference. Is there any special setting i have to configure in the WAN setting page of my router?. I have only had experience with "dumb modems".

  • Sorry for the late reply. I have been moving house. Turns out i just had to factory reset it a bunch of times. I did it when i first encountered the issue but it did not seem to do anything.
