not broadcasting wifi mr2100

hi, mr2100 router is not broadcasting wifi again today, though it is providing good internet access via the ethernet socket to my PC's. On the touchscreen it shows  a X through the wifi emblem. Has done this before a couple of times in the last 2 months but rebooting worked, today wifi  does not work, nor switching off for several minutes

tapping or holding down the wifi emblem has no effect on the large X over the emblem, other than bring up the "battery fully charged" page that rapidly swamps everything else, even though it was disconnected from the power lead 2 hours ago. Its 7 months old. I have have made sure the wifi timer is "never off"
