R7100LG wil not connect to 3/4G

Hi

Had my router for a couple of years now and all has been good. Last Friday overnight it decided to play up. It had dropped the Internet connection and no amount of resetting or power cycling will get it to reconnect to EE my mobile provider. The sim has been checked in a phone and is now currently running in my old TP-Link router so doesn't appear to be sim or provider issue.

I can log into the router however obviously there is no ip address or anything set as it's not connecting. Can click connect but it tries and fails.

Internet light is amber and 3G/4G light is off. WIFI side is OK, can connect to the router with multiple devices but obs no internet on any of them.

Been through all the settings and tried different options on the 3G/4G type but nothing.

AND there doesn't appear to be much on the internet about this kind of fault!

Any ideas please?

  • The R7100LG isn't one of the Nighthawk Wi-Fi 5 (AC) Routers covered in this section.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Cell Service Mobile Hotspot Modems, AirCards, & Mobile Routers

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
